The apps follow your device’s language, and fall back to English for any other. A Portuguese device outside Brazil gets the Brazilian text; a French device outside Canada gets the text for France. To change the app’s language, see Units, clock and language.

The website chooses from the address first, then from the language you last picked with the language selector in the footer, then from your browser. English pages have plain addresses, such as /docs; the others are prefixed, such as /pt-BR/docs.

The briefing

The briefing is written and spoken in your device’s language — which can be one the app itself is not translated into. A Spanish device, for instance, gets an English app and a Spanish briefing. Place names stay as they are on road signs, and in languages the app is not translated into, the labels joining them are in English.

On the web, the briefing follows the website’s language.

Emails

Sign-in codes and reset links arrive in the language of the browser you asked for them from. The code for changing your email arrives in English.

The Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy are published in English, and the English text governs in every language. Other languages show a note saying so.
