Chance of precip

What it measures

The probability, as a percentage, that measurable rain or snow falls on this section during the hour you are there. When the forecast gives no figure, the cell shows a dash, or is left out on Android.

Why it matters on the road

A chance is not an amount. A high chance of a trace is a damp windscreen; a low chance of freezing rain is still worth planning around. Read it beside Precipitation, which says how much, and Feels like, which says whether it could freeze.
