What location is used for
Windshield Weather uses your location for one thing: to fill in 01 STARTING FROM with where you are, and to show your position on the map. It asks only while you are planning, never in the background, and it never needs “always” access.
Nothing else depends on it. The forecast, the timeline, the map and the briefing work the same for a start you typed.

Leave location off and type your starting place, the same way you type the destination. Choose where you are going covers search.
