Your sign-in methods are on your account page, where your browser handles Apple and Google sign-in and the email checks. Open the page, then choose Sign-in methods: it lists each method — Apple, Google and Email password — as connected or Not connected. A connected Apple or Google account shows the address it signs in with, such as “Connected · [email protected]”; if you connected two Google accounts, each has its own row.
Open Settings › Account › Update account settings. The page opens in a sheet inside the app, already signed in.
Open Settings › Account › Update account settings. The page opens in a sheet inside the app, already signed in.
Open Settings › Account › Update account settings. The page opens in a Chrome Custom Tab, already signed in.
Sign in at windshieldweather.com and go to windshieldweather.com/account.
When you are done, choose BACK TO THE APP, or close the browser; the app picks up the changes when you return.
Connect Apple or Google
Open your account page
From the app, Update account settings; or sign in at windshieldweather.com and open your account. Then choose Sign-in methods.
Choose CONNECT beside Apple or Google
If you have not signed in or entered a code in the last five minutes, the page first asks you to confirm your account email: choose SEND VERIFICATION CODE and enter the six-digit code.
Sign in with that provider when it asks
You return to Sign-in methods, where the provider now shows the address it signs in with.
The provider’s email does not have to match your account’s. Apple’s Hide My Email works: we do not ask for your personal address. A provider that is already connected to another Windshield Weather account cannot be connected to this one; sign in to that account to manage it.
You do not always need CONNECT. Choosing Continue with Apple or Google on the sign-in page, with a provider that uses your account’s email, joins your account when both that provider and your account have confirmed the address.
Remove a method
Choose DISCONNECT beside the method
First, confirm you can receive email at your account address: choose SEND VERIFICATION CODE and enter the six-digit code.
Confirm the disconnect
Do it within five minutes of entering the code; after that, ask for a new code.
Keep one way in
You cannot remove your last way of signing in. If Apple or Google is your only method, add another first: connect the other provider, or choose SET EMAIL PASSWORD to add a password — you confirm your email with a code, then choose a password of at least eight characters.
If the browser is signed in to another account
Opened from the app, the page is always signed in to the app’s account. On the website, it works on whichever account that browser is signed in to; to manage another, choose SIGN OUT and sign in to the right one.
