Reset or change your password

If you have forgotten it

1. Go to the password step of sign-in

   Sign in as usual with your email. On the password step, choose Forgot your password?.

2. Choose SEND RESET LINK

   We email you a link to choose a new password. The page says the same thing whether or not the address has an account, so nobody can use it to find out.

3. Open the email, “Reset your Windshield Weather password”

   Choose CHOOSE A NEW PASSWORD. The link works for an hour, and only once.

4. Choose a new password

   At least eight characters. This signs out every device that was signed in: browsers at once, the app within the hour. Then sign in with the new password on any device.

If you did not ask for a reset, ignore the email: nothing changes, and your current password still works.

A reset also works for an account you created with Apple or Google: completing it adds an email password to the account.

If the email does not arrive

• Look in your spam or junk folder, and add [email protected] to your contacts.
• Choose Resend the link on the page.
• Check the address for a typo — the page cannot tell you if it is wrong.

If you know it and want to change it

1. Open your account page

   In the app, open Settings › Account › Update account settings. The page opens inside the app, already signed in — in a sheet on iPhone, iPad and Mac, in a Chrome Custom Tab on Android. On the website, go to windshieldweather.com/account.

2. Choose Update password

   Enter your CURRENT PASSWORD and a NEW PASSWORD of at least eight characters.

3. Choose SAVE NEW PASSWORD

   You return to your account page. Your other devices stay signed in, and signing in with Apple or Google is not affected. From the app, choose BACK TO THE APP when you are done.

The Update password row is shown only if your account has a password. If you sign in only with Apple or Google, reset it as above to add one, or see Sign-in methods.

After several wrong attempts, the page asks you to wait before trying again.
