The forecast changed after I planned
A drive’s forecast is fetched again each time you open it, and forecasts move. A stretch can go from Caution to Hazard overnight.

Why it changed
Forecasts are updated through the day, and a drive’s forecast is fetched again whenever you open it. Rain arrives earlier or later than expected, a cold front slows down, snow turns to rain. A section can move from CAUTION to HAZARD overnight, or the other way.
Sections move too: they follow the weather, so when the weather shifts, a drive can gain or lose sections and the numbers can move along the road.
The further ahead a section is, the more its forecast can change. A drive planned days ahead is a good way to choose a day, and a poor way to know the hour.
Where to see the latest
- Open the drive. It fetches its forecast again. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, Refresh at the foot of the timeline fetches it at once.
- On the web, open the drive again from DRIVES; the web planner does not refresh an open drive.
- Refresh the briefing too — it describes the forecast from when it was written, and says when it may be out of date.
Your list of drives shows each drive’s rating from the last time its forecast loaded, so it can be behind until you open the drive.
How the forecast stays current has the detail for each device.
